What should I wear to my appointment?

We encourage you to wear non-restrictive clothing that allows a clear view of your body, and that you are comfortable moving in. This is particularily important for appointments with Sevrin Baker and Amanda Miller.

How can I prepare for a Postural Assessment session?

Be sure to complete the intake form with lots of detail prior to your arrival. Bring a snack, water bottle, and notepad with you to maximize the results of your appointment.

How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?

Please go to your account in our Jane-App booking service, then see “upcoming appointments” listed on the right; or you can contact your practitioner directly. Note: Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to a cancellation fee.

Are your services covered by insurance?

Please contact your practitioner directly to learn if their services are covered by insurance. Generally, registered massage therapists (RMT’s) and counsellors are covered by most insurance companies.

What types of payment are accepted?

Please contact your practitioner directly if you have questions regarding what type of payment they accept.

What is your cancellation policy?
  • Cancellation Policy: Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the practitioners’ day that could have been filled by another patient. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged a cancellation fee.
  • No-Show Policy: If you do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged a cancellation fee.
  • Lare Policy: If you are late to your appointment, you will only have the scheduled time remaining for your appointment. After 20 minutes have passed, your appointment will be considered a no show and subject to a cancellation fee.
Are your facilities accessible to individuals with disabilities?
  • The Baker Wellness Centre location does not have a wheelchair accessible space at this time. Access to the wellness centre location requires decent of a staircase with a railing for balance assist. 
  • If you require a wheelchair accessible facility, please contact us directly for a referral. 
What COVID-19 safety measures are in place at Baker Wellness Centre?
  • The following safety measures have been implemented to ensure the ongoing safety of Baker Wellness Centre patients, guests and staff;
    • Stay home if you are feeling sick. 
    • Masking is optional, but recommended. 
    • Patients will be rescheduled if they 
      • Are experiencing any of the following symptoms; fever, chills, difficulty breathing, cough, sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, difficulty swallowing, unexplained fatigue, new rash, diarrhea or nausea/vomiting, loss of smell or taste. 
      • Have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 5 days.
      • Have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 5 days.
    • No show and cancellation fees will not apply to patient appointments if rescheduling needs to occur within 24 hrs of appointment for the reasons listed above. 
    • Baker Wellness Centre staff and service providers reserve the right to reschedule patient appointments at their discretion should it be deemed unsafe to proceed with treatment. 
  • Should there be a risk of exposure within the center, a member of our team will contact all scheduled patients as soon as possible to assist in rescheduling of appointments at the earliest convenience. 
Can I book appointments online?
  • Yes! We encourage you to do so. Please select the booking link of your chosen practitioner and create an account via Jane-App, our scheduling software.
  • Through your account you will be able to book, reschedule, or cancel your appointments. As well as complete mandatory intake forms.
  • If you need support with appointment scheduling, please contact your respective practitioner directly using their listed email.

What is Neuroplasticity, and how does it benefit me?

Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to rewire itself over time due to stimulus. This means we can change how your brain habitually uses the available muscles and tissues of your body.

How can Postural Assessments help with my pain and discomfort?

Postural Assessments allow us to determine the most effective way to rehabilitate your body, giving us the most accurate picture of our starting point so we can determine an appropriate course of action for rehabilitation over time.

How do I know if Postural Health & Development is right for me?

What are the benefits of partnering in training sessions with Postural Health & Development?

Having a partner observe what to look for in your form allows for each person to feel more confident, both during and after the appointment. A rehabilitation partner can support you with a separate perspective; helping you recall cues.

Can your services help with office-related aches and pains?
  • Most definitely! Sedentary, desk-bound roles are more common with the onset of remote work. All Baker Wellness Centre services would be beneficial to both alleviating pain, and supporting healthier work practices. 
  • Please be sure to include your work situation on any service intake forms so we can address this during your appointment. 
Is Massage Therapy suitable for pregnant women?
  • Yes! Any massage therapy appointments booked during pregnancy can be modified as necessary to keep things safe for both mother and child. 
  • If you are pregnant or suspect you might be, please share this with your service provider in your intake form and/or at the start of your appointment. All patient information will be kept confidential. 
Do you offer any discounts or package deals?

Some practitioners offer sliding scale treatments while others offer package deals, please contact your desired practitioner directly to inquire about what they offer.
